Local festivals in Caldas de Reis
The San Roque festivities are usually celebrated from 15 to 18 August over four days. The centre of the spa town hosts religious observances, music and community gatherings organised by the Council and local groups in honour of the saint.
San Xoán and Corpus
The San Xoán celebrations usually take place on 23 and 24 June, while Corpus is marked in June in Caldas and Santo Tomás. Streets, squares and churches provide the setting for bonfire traditions, religious services and gatherings involving residents, parishes and festival committees.
Other celebrations: parishes and Cultura Quente
The parishes of Carracedo, Godos, Saiar, Bemil, Arcos da Condesa, San Clemente and San Andrés maintain festivals dedicated to San Brais, Candlemas, San Antonio, the Virgen del Carmen, the Rosary and other devotions throughout the year. In July, the Cultura Quente festival, promoted by the Council, connects the identity of the thermal springs with music, contemporary creativity and community participation.
