Local festivals in O Carballiño

The Festa do Pulpo, recognised as a Festival of International Tourist Interest, is O Carballiño's best-known celebration. It is usually held on the second Sunday in August in the Municipal Park and brings together pulpeiras and pulpeiros, hospitality businesses, associations, residents and visitors around pulpo á feira, music and a traditional romería atmosphere.

Usual celebration

The town's octopus tradition has roots in Santa María de Arcos and shapes its food culture throughout the year. Entroido carnival also holds an important place in the calendar, with parades and the Festa da Cachucha, while September centres on San Cibrán.

Other events and cultural life

The Veracruz Temple, thermal heritage, the Municipal Park and routes beside the River Arenteiro complete a cultural and visitor offer closely connected with the local landscape and food traditions.
