Local festivals in Porto do Son
The Porto do Son festivities are usually celebrated from 7 to 11 September. Days dedicated to the Virgen de Loreto, San Roque and Caridade bring together religious observances, music, open-air dances and community gatherings in the town's streets and squares.
Carmen and seafaring culture
Devotion to the Virgen del Carmen is found in several coastal settlements: Baroña celebrates her in July, Queiruga holds festivities over several days, and Portosín maintains its celebration in August. Portosín's Feira Mariñeira and the Festa do Polbo, held on the quay in Porto do Son, connect the festivities with fishing, the harbour and local food traditions.
