Local festivals in Miajadas

The August Fair is Miajadas's main usual celebration. During the first fortnight, especially from 9 to 12 August, the fairground, Plaza de España, the municipal stadium and town-centre streets host the opening speech, big-head parades, concerts, dances, children's events and bull-related activities.

Usual tradition and participation

The usual duration is several days. The Town Council, youth clubs, the Municipal Music Band, cultural and sports associations, residents of Miajadas and people from Casar de Miajadas and Alonso de Ojeda participate. Local traditions include the ceremonial opening, Extremaduran folklore, the Tomato Competition and club gatherings.

Other cultural events

Other events in the municipal calendar include Carnival, Holy Week processions and the Friday of Sorrows pilgrimage, the Santiago festivities in Casar de Miajadas and San Juan in Alonso de Ojeda.
