Local festivals in Tarragona
Santa Tecla is Tarragona's main festival and reaches its climax every 23 September with the Seguici Popular, the city's human-tower groups and the patron saint's religious celebration. Sant Magí on 19 August completes the core local festival calendar before September's major occasion.
Usual celebration
Santa Tecla usually fills about two weeks in the second half of September, with its main traditional days on 22, 23 and 24 September. Part Alta, the Cathedral, Rambla Nova and the central squares host the Seguici, human towers, spoken dances, devils, giants, music, food and family events, organised by the City Council with the city's popular-culture groups.
Other celebrations
Sant Magí opens the main festive season in August, before the human-tower, music and popular-culture events that accompany Santa Tecla in September.
