Local festivals in Deltebre

Deltebre's main festivities are usually celebrated for about ten days in August around the Mare de Déu de l'Assumpció and Sant Roc. The temporary bullring, streets and venues in La Cava and Jesús i Maria host the opening address, processions and offerings, orchestra dances, football, activities for the local age groups and bull traditions. The Town Council, Club Deportiu La Cava, local clubs, associations and residents take part in organising them.

Other celebrations: neighbourhood festivities

The calendar continues with Sant Joan in Jesús i Maria, the Festes del Barracot on the first weekend of July, and the Sant Miquel and Sant Ramon celebrations in late September. Neighbourhood bodies, cultural groups and festival organisations sustain parades, music, community gatherings and events associated with each settlement.

Festa de la Sega

In September, during a one-day gathering at Finca de Bombita, Festa de la Sega revives traditional rice harvesting. Harvesters, associations and visitors show how the sheaves are stacked, sun-dried, winnowed and bagged; the event also includes a craft market, jota singing, games, fishing and punt demonstrations, and Delta cuisine.
