Local festivals of Figueres

The Fires i Festes de la Santa Creu are Figueres' main festivities, centred on 3 May. They take place over several days across the Rambla and central squares, the fairground amusement park, Parc de les Aigües and cultural venues around the city.

Traditions include the opening speech, gegants, castells, sardanes, concerts, family activities and the Creus de Maig competition. These floral crosses have been displayed every 3 May since 1941, with categories recognising design, floral composition and traditional, original and Dalí-inspired entries. The Rampell, run by non-profit associations, also provides a space for community participation and fundraising.
