Local festivals in Vallirana

The Sant Mateu Festa Major is usually celebrated around 21 September. Cultural, sporting and social activities take place throughout the month, with music, communal gatherings and ceremonial events promoted by the Town Council, local organisations and businesses. Streets and municipal venues host a participatory celebration bringing together residents of all ages.

Sant Sebastià and the town vow

On 20 January, Vallirana renews its Vot de Poble to Sant Sebastià, a collective vow made in 1855 after a cholera epidemic. The day retains a solemn service, the distribution of Sant Sebastià bread rolls, a street procession and sardanes; cultural events and community gatherings are also organised around this tradition.

Other celebrations and folk culture

Local associations sustain much of the festive calendar through giants, drumming, a correfoc, music and family activities. The Drac Apocaleus and local cultural groups take part in street routes and events, while the Casino Valliranenc and other municipal venues provide gathering places for celebrations and dancing.
