Local festivals in Tona

The summer Festa Major is usually celebrated over five days around the first weekend in August. The streets, Plaça Major, Espai Muriel Casals and the Castle area host an opening speech, correfoc, giants and big-head figures, concerts, neighbourhood dinners and heritage events organised by the Town Council, associations and local groups.

Sant Andreu Festa Major

Around 30 November, the Sant Andreu Festa Major lasts for several days with solemn mass in the parish church, popular culture, performances and the Fira Joc Joc. Sant Andreu's status as patron is documented in the consecration of the Castle church in 888, while the Town Council and associations have expanded the community side of the celebration.

Other celebrations: Aplec de la Rosa

Over the Pentecost weekend, the Aplec de la Rosa at Lurdes and the Castle brings two days of dance, sardanes and traditional culture. Plaça Major, Sala La Canal and the Castle plateau host the proclamation of the Roseraire and Traginer, performances by Esbart Dansaire, coblas, a floral display contest, bonfires and a communal meal with broad participation by residents.
