Local festivals in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda
The Summer Festa Major is usually celebrated on the first weekend in September. Streets, squares and parks host the proclamation, giants’ parade, correfoc fire run, sardana dancing, competitions, sports, music and the firework display, with strong participation from the town’s cultural and sporting associations.
Giants, diables and popular culture
The giants Bernat, Perpètua, Santiga and Pipa, the Joves Diables and local dance and sardana groups move through spaces including Plaça de la Vila, the Rambla, Plaça Francesc Macià and Parc Central. The colles and associations maintain music, fire and dance as shared elements of local identity.
Other celebrations: Winter Festa Major
Around 7 March, the feast of Santa Perpètua, the winter Festa Major brings together street parades, gatherings of giants, diables, sardana and gitanes dancing, lacemakers and cultural displays organised by the Town Council and local associations across different parts of the town.
