Local festivals in Piera
The Fira i Festes del Sant Crist is usually celebrated for more than a week between late April and early May. A multi-sector fair fills the town centre for a weekend with craft, food, textile and local-producer stalls, while cultural, popular and religious events dedicated to the Sant Crist take place across the streets and squares. The Town Council, community organisations and local businesses sustain one of the leading occasions in Piera's calendar.
September Festa Major
The Festa Major usually lasts about five days around 8 September. Its cercavila brings together devil-dance groups, falcons, giants, pubillatge representatives and sardana associations between Plaça de la Creu and Parc del Gall Mullat. The service at Santa Maria church, communal meals, music and performances complete a celebration organised with broad participation from the town's associations.
Other celebrations in neighbourhoods and villages
During July and August, Piera's neighbourhoods and villages hold their own festes majors over one or several days. La Fortesa, Ca n'Aguilera, Sant Jaume Sesoliveres, Can Mata, Can Claramunt, El Bedorc and other settlements maintain community calendars with cultural activities, meals, music and local events led by associations and festival committees.
