Local festivals in Molins de Rei
The Fira de la Candelera fills the town’s streets and squares on the first weekend in February. Founded as an agricultural fair in 1852, it retains plant nurseries and gardening at its heart while also bringing together crafts, food, trade, exhibitions, giants, castellers and activities organised by local groups. It is officially recognised as a traditional festival of national interest.
Festa Major de Sant Miquel
The Festa Major is usually celebrated over several days in September, with its central day on 29 September, the feast of Sant Miquel. La Crida opens the celebrations with the town’s popular-culture groups; street parades, giants and big-head figures, the Esbart Dansaire, music and the firework display shape its most established events.
Other celebrations and popular culture
Collas, associations and cultural groups sustain a calendar in which traditional dance, fire, festive figures and community gatherings play a central role in both the Festa Major and the Candelera.
