Local festivals in Llinars del Vallès
The usual celebration of the Festa Major lasts about five days around 8 September, with preliminary events and a capvuitada extending the festive period. Plaça de la Vila, Plaça dels Països Catalans, Parc Ventura Gassol, streets and public venues host the proclamation, festive parade, giants, bastoners, devils, trabucaires, sardana dancing, concerts, games and community meals. The Town Council, dozens of local organisations and associations, colles, the parish, clubs, traders and volunteers organise and lead the activities.
The festive parade, Blaus and Vermells
Bells and the arrival of the festive parade usually open the celebration with the giants, Mulassa, Isard, capgrossos, Corb Borni and the fire and stick-dancing groups, accompanied by gralla, drum and flabiol players and a band. The friendly rivalry between Blaus and Vermells involves groups of friends and families in food, sport and playful contests before the correfoc and the festival's closing events.
