Local festivals in Cubelles
Cubelles holds two main festival cycles during the summer. The Festa Petita is usually celebrated over several days around 30 July, the feast of Sant Abdó and Sant Senén, while the Festa Major extends for about a week around 15 August, the feast of the Mare de Déu d'Agost.
Folk dances, fire and local participation
The opening address, matinades, street parades, solemn service, sardana dancing, correfoc and fireworks take place around Plaça de la Vila, Plaça del Mercat, the Can Travé gardens and the old town streets. The Town Council organises the celebrations with the Agrupació de Balls Populars de Cubelles, Castellers del Foix, pubillatge representatives, festival committees and cultural organisations.
Other events: Festa de la Verema
The Festa de la Verema usually closes the festive summer over two days in September in Plaça del Mercat. Grape treading, the first must, local wines, crafts, giants and heritage visits recall Cubelles's agricultural past and bring together producers, local businesses, folk-culture organisations and families.
