Local festivals in Cardedeu
The Festa Major is usually celebrated over several days around 15 August. Squares, streets and civic venues across the town host the seguici, opening speech, correfocs, sardanes, morning wake-up events, music, theatre and family activities. The Entremesos del 15 and Petits Entremesos bring together gegants, bastoners, diables and other popular-culture groups, with participation by the Town Council, local organisations and associations.
Neighbourhood and summer celebrations
Neighbourhood festivals take place throughout the summer and lead up to the main celebration. Can Serra, l'Estalvi, Poble Sec, els Dominics and la Riera i la Creu organise local gatherings in squares and streets with communal meals, music, games and family events. The Festa del Foc, on the last weekend in June, gives a central role to the Colla de Diables de Cardedeu.
Other traditional festivals and gatherings
Other celebrations include the Aplec de Sant Hilari on the second Sunday in January, with sardanes, bonfires and a shared meal around the farmhouse and chapel. The cultural calendar also includes Els Tres Tombs near the feast of Sant Antoni Abat, the Fira de Sant Isidre, the Aplec de Sardanes, Sant Joan, the Aplec de Sant Corneli i Cebrià and the Christmas fair.
