Local festivals in Calella

The smaller Sant Quirze and Santa Julita Festa Major is usually celebrated over several days around 16 June. Mass in the chapel dedicated to the saints, the distribution of carnation bouquets, gatherings of small giant figures and bestiary, sardanes and neighbourhood dinners bring the celebration to Manuel Puigvert promenade and the central streets.

Festa Major de la Minerva

La Minerva brings Calella together over several days in September. The opening speech, Ball de la Llopa, the Quirze and Minerva giants, street parades, correfoc, castells, sardanes and concerts involve the Colla de Geganters, Udols de Foc, cultural organisations, the Town Council and residents.

Other celebrations

The Fira de Calella i l’Alt Maresme usually accompanies La Minerva on Manuel Puigvert promenade, presenting crafts, food and culture from different territories. The mushroom festival and other seasonal events complete a calendar rooted in local associations and public spaces.
