The Carnaval del Toro is Ciudad Rodrigo's main celebration, combining popular carnival traditions with bull runs, capeas and bullfighting events in the historic centre. Plaza Mayor becomes an arena, while the streets host brass bands, costumes, floats and livestock routes.

The dates depend on Lent. The proclamation and Primer Campanazo open the festivities, followed by bull runs from the pens on Calle Duero, capeas in Plaza Mayor, brass bands and the closing Toro de Cenizos.
