Local festivals in Saldaña
The patronal Fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Valle, designated an Event of Regional Tourist Interest, are the main celebration of Saldaña and its surrounding district.
Usual celebration
The Fiestas del Valle usually last for nearly a week, with 8 and 9 September as their main days. The image is brought down from the Santuario del Valle to San Miguel church accompanied by dancers, the band, residents and local authorities; on the 6th it passes through the streets to the floral offering in Plaza Vieja, and on the 7th it returns to the sanctuary in the torchlight procession. The pilgrimage on the 8th, the paloteo stick dances and the Chiborra figure are part of the tradition. Music, sports, giants and big-head figures, fireworks and the banquete del novillo on the 10th usually complete the several-day festival.
Local public holidays in 2026
The official Castile and León calendar records both Saldaña entries as ‘NOT REPORTED'. No local non-working date is therefore asserted for 2026, and the pilgrimage or patronal days are not assumed to be labour holidays.
Other cultural events
The Town Council has announced the second Bed Race for the 2026 Fiestas del Valle, but its festival page does not yet provide a complete general programme for that edition. The municipal cultural calendar also includes the Feria de las Candelas, Mercatvs Romanvs, painting competitions and activities connected with Saldaña's heritage and the Roman Villa of La Olmeda.
