Local festivals in Villablino

San Roque is Villablino's main celebration and shares the municipal calendar with festivities in the settlements of the Laciana Valley. The Town Council, local councils, clubs, associations, craftspeople and sports clubs take part in events combining worship, music, a market, food and Laciana traditions.

Usual celebration

San Roque's main day is 16 August and the celebration usually lasts several days around that date. The festival ground on Avenida del Bierzo, Parque del Minero, Jardines de Sierra Pambley, the main square and Casa de Cultura host the opening speech, Mass, parades, dances, family activities and the Medieval Market. The municipality also holds the livestock and trading fair known as La Feriona on 12 October.

Programme for 2026

The municipal programme ran from 13 to 17 August. It included a treasure hunt, tournaments, the medieval market, a food-truck festival, the opening speech and an orchestra; on 16 August there were the San Roque Mass, a multi-themed parade and evening performances. Día de Laciana on 17 August brought a craft market, traditional games and sports, a Spanish mastiff display, music and dancing in Patsuezu to the park and Casa de Cultura.

Local public holidays in 2026

The provincial resolution designates 17 August for San Roque in Villablino and 4 December, Santa Bárbara, throughout the municipality. These are official labour dates and do not represent the full duration of the festival programme.

Other cultural events

Other events in the valley include San Bartolomé in Caboalles de Abajo, Santiago Apóstol in Caboalles de Arriba and El Villar de Santiago, Virgen del Oteiro in Llamas and the two Rabanal settlements, and the San Pedro, Santa Marina, La Magdalena and San Lorenzo festivities elsewhere in the municipality.
