Local festivals in Bembibre
Fiestas del Cristo brings together devotion to Santo Ecce Homo with parades, music, a market and sporting and family activities. The Ecce Homo sanctuary, San Pedro church, Plaza Mayor, Plaza Santa Bárbara, Paseo de Carrizales and Teatro Benevivere are among its usual venues.
Usual celebration
The festival is usually celebrated around 14 and 15 September. It includes Masses and processions between the sanctuary and San Pedro, giants and big-headed figures, dawn music, open-air dances and participation by the council, the Municipal Festival Board, Beatriz Osorio Municipal Music School, associations, clubs and residents. The solemn Salida del Santo takes place every seven years, with the next edition scheduled for 2029.
