Festivals in Laredo
Laredo combines maritime tradition, floral art and history in a calendar led by the Battle of Flowers and the Landing of Charles V. Both celebrations fill the town-centre streets and attract visitors from across Cantabria.
Usual celebrations
The Battle of Flowers transforms Alameda Miramar with floats covered in natural flowers. In September, the Landing of Charles V recreates the emperor's arrival in the town with a Renaissance market, street performances and historical activities.
Other cultural events
The Charles V historical re-enactment and the Puerta de San Lorenzo interpretation centre complete September's cultural programme.
