Local festivals in Guriezo

Our Lady of the Snows, patron of the Guriezo valley, is usually celebrated on 5 August. The pilgrimage climbs to the hermitage on Pico de las Nieves and combines High Mass, an outdoor meal, dances and traditional pipers before the descent towards Landeral and El Puente.

The valley's festival calendar

The neighbourhoods retain their own celebrations: San Antonio in Llaguno and Pomar, San Juan in Agüera, Santa Isabel in Nocina, La Magdalena in the neighbourhoods near the school, El Cristo in El Puente, San Lorenzo in Pomar, San Bartolomé in Landeral, and San Emeterio and San Celedonio in Rioseco. Día de Guriezo recreates old occupations and ways of life through a residents' parade and a tasting in the Town Hall square.

Other events

The sheep and goat fair held on the third Saturday in October completes the traditional calendar.
