Local festivals in El Astillero

San José is Astillero's patronal festival and one of Cantabria's major March events. Recognised as a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest, it combines tradition, music, sport and community participation for more than two weeks around 19 March.

Usual celebration

The proclamation opens the principal days, while the town centre, La Cantábrica and other municipal venues host concerts, children's activities, tributes, sporting events and the railway-pot cookery competition. The Town Council, associations, clubs, volunteers, peñas, families and visitors take part in a calendar that also extends to Guarnizo and its own festivities.

Other events

Guarnizo celebrates San Camilo de Lelis over several days in July at Pista de San Camilo, with children's activities, pilgrimages, open-air dances, a tribute to older residents, traditional games and communal food events.
