Local festivals in Camargo

The San Juan festivities in Maliaño and the Virgen del Carmen festivities in Revilla are the two principal dates in Camargo's municipal calendar. They are joined by celebrations in the valley's different towns and villages, from San Vicente Mártir and Santa Cruz to San Ramón, Nuestra Señora de Solares and San Miguel Arcángel.

Usual celebrations

San Juan's main day is 24 June in Maliaño. Its programmes bring together an opening address, penyes, music, a bonfire, fireworks, family activities and Mass at San Juan Bautista church. El Carmen is celebrated in Revilla around 16 July, with a novena, offerings from the valley's villages, Masses, processions, music, penya gatherings and popular events beside the shrine and chapel.

Participation and venues

Parque de Cros, Plaza de la Constitución, the Pedro Velarde sports hall, the Maliaño field and San Juan Bautista church host much of the San Juan programme. In Revilla, the area around the Virgen del Carmen shrine forms the centre of the patronal celebration, organised with the participation of the Council, the village board, the festival committee, cultural associations, penyes, dance and music groups, businesses and residents.

Other events

San Vicente Mártir in Muriedas, Santa Cruz and San Pantaleón in Escobedo, San Ramón in Herrera, Nuestra Señora de Solares and San Miguel Arcángel in Camargo complete the valley's festival calendar.
