Local festivals in Telde

Telde usually celebrates the patronal festival of San Juan Bautista in June, with the historic centre as its main setting. The municipality's festival calendar also includes San Gregorio Taumaturgo, the Santo Cristo de Telde and neighbourhood celebrations such as Lomo Magullo.

Usual celebration

San Juan culminates on 24 June and lasts several days across Plaza de San Juan, Parque Franchy Roca, Rincón Plácido Fleitas and the streets of the old town. The City Council organises the opening speech, street parade, pilgrimage and offering, craft fair, bonfire, concerts, traditional games and sporting events with folklore groups, decorated carts, neighbourhood groups and local associations.

Other events and culture

Traditional celebrations include the Santo Cristo de Telde, Caña Dulce in Jinámar and the Traída del Agua in Lomo Magullo. The municipality also holds neighbourhood festivals, fairs, sporting activities and events connected with its archaeological and coastal heritage.
