Local festivals in Santa Brígida

The Santa Brígida patronal festivities are usually celebrated over several days between late July and early August, around the first Sunday in August. The pilgrimage and offering on the first Saturday brings the neighbourhoods together in the old town with decorated floats, pilgrims in traditional dress and folk music groups. The patronal festival committee and Town Council coordinate the events with municipal associations and community groups.

San Antonio and rural life

San Antonio de Padua is celebrated over several days around 13 June. The livestock fair at Cercados del Pueblo, the procession and the flower, plant and bird exhibition in the Municipal Park connect the festival with the town's farming traditions. Farmers, residents and local organisations participate in activities promoted by the Town Council.

Other celebrations: Traída del Barro and neighbourhood festivals

La Atalaya hosts the Traída del Barro in July, a one-day event revived in 1994 by Peña del Barro to preserve the memory of pottery and traditional crafts. The same neighbourhood celebrates San Pedro with a torchlight pilgrimage to the potters' caves. Corpus Christi covers the old town streets with carpets made from flowers, sand, sawdust and salt, while the Finaos gathering brings residents of El Madroñal together around autumn produce.
