Local festivals in San Bartolomé

The San Bartolomé patronal festivities are usually celebrated over several days in August and culminate on the 24th with a religious service and procession through the town-centre streets. The Town Council, associations, clubs and residents participate in a programme combining tradition, culture, sport and community life.

Pilgrimage, folklore and floats

The popular pilgrimage follows Calles Rubicón, Calderetas and Párroco San Martín to the church square, where offerings are presented before the baile del romero. The Don José María Gil Folklore Memorial, Noche de Parrandas, Canary bowls tournaments, historic-photography exhibition and float parade reflect the municipality's festive identity.

Other celebrations: Playa Honda

Playa Honda holds several days of end-of-summer festivities along the promenade, in Plaza Santa Elena and on the Guacimeta esplanade. Associations, businesses, clubs and residents organise music, folklore, sport, traditional games, workshops, street parades, seaside activities and communal food events.
