Local festivals in Maria de la Salut
The patronal festival of the Mare de Déu de la Salut, also known as dels Missatges, is held around 8 September. Its traditional calendar links the completion of farm work such as harvesting grain and figs to the beginning of a new cycle, announced by the flag raised above the church's main doorway.
Usual celebration
The patronal days bring religious events, music and community gatherings to the square, church and central streets. The Town Hall, parish, local organisations, associations and residents take part in the celebration.
Other events
Sant Antoni adds winter beneïdes animal blessings and communal grills, while the Encontre del Bon Jesús takes place on Easter Sunday. On the last Sunday in September, the Baratillo des Pla fills the centre with stalls, crafts and local products; August also brings evening fairs devoted to tomàtiga de ramellet tomatoes and glosat oral verse.
