Local festivals in Capdepera

The Sant Bartomeu festivities, honouring Capdepera's patron, are usually celebrated around 24 August. The Nit del Foc transforms the old town with torches, fire wheels, fireworks and dimonis, while parades, music and traditional dances reinforce the popular character of the main festival.

Sant Antoni and the Medieval Market

Between 15 and 17 January, Sant Antoni combines animal blessings with foguerons, communal grilling, songs and the dimonis' procession. On the third weekend in May, the Medieval Market fills the streets around the castle for three days with craftspeople, local produce, old-trade demonstrations, music, theatre and re-enactments of Jaume II's foundation of the town in 1300, with residents decorating streets and balconies.

Other celebrations: maritime culture in Cala Rajada

In October, the Llampuga Fair celebrates fishing and food connected with this fish at Cala Rajada harbour, with food stalls, music and activities. The municipal calendar also includes Sant Roc in Cala Rajada, carnival and the Sant Joan bonfires.
