Local festivals in Tineo
Tineo usually celebrates San Pedro in late June and San Roque in mid-August. The municipality's calendar also includes the Vaqueirada at Aristébano, the Caridad festivities in Navelgas and numerous pilgrimages and food events across its parishes.
Usual celebration
San Roque's main day is 16 August, and its events usually last several days in the town and Campo de San Roque. The Town Council, peñas, festival committees, associations and residents organise a pilgrimage, the sharing of the traditional bread roll, music, processions and popular events. On the last Sunday of July, the Vaqueirada brings vaqueiros and visitors together at Aristébano for a traditional wedding, music, dancing and a country meal celebrating vaqueiro culture.
Other events and culture
The municipality hosts the National Gold Panning Championship in Navelgas, the Chosco Festival, the Tineo Trade Fair, the Transhumance Festival and celebrations such as the Esfoyón and Amagosto. These events take place in Navelgas, the town of Tineo, Casa del Puerto and other villages across the municipality.
