Local festivals in Tomares
The Tomares Fair is usually celebrated from Wednesday to Sunday in the first week of September. The fairground on Avenida de los Olivos brings together two rows of casetas and the Municipal Caseta beneath a large canopy, in an atmosphere shaped by sevillanas, local food and gatherings of associations, families and visitors.
Casetas, dance and local cooking
Competitions for decorated casetas, rice dishes, stews, flamenco dress and sevillanas dancing are established features of the fair. Caseta members, peñas and local groups prepare and decorate these spaces, while the Town Council coordinates the fairground and shared activities.
Other celebrations: San Sebastián pilgrimage
The pilgrimage honouring San Sebastián, the patron saint of Tomares, usually takes place on the first Sunday in May. After the pilgrims’ service at the church of Nuestra Señora de Belén, the procession heads to Parque Olivar del Zaudín with the participation of the Hermandad Sacramental, pilgrims and residents.
