Local festivals in Seville
The Feria de Abril, Holy Week and Corpus Christi shape Seville's festival calendar. The City Council, Cathedral Chapter, brotherhoods, caseta holders, clubs, bands and residents take part in celebrations held at the Real de Los Remedios and across the historic centre.
Usual celebration
The Feria is usually held for one week on variable spring dates. The lighting of the main gate opens days of casetas, sevillanas and local food; the Paseo de Caballos y Enganches passes through the streets of the Real, and fireworks close the festival. Corpus preserves its procession around the Cathedral and Plaza de San Francisco.
Programme for 2026
The 2026 Feria de Abril ran from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 April at the Real de Los Remedios: it opened with the lighting ceremony, featured the Paseo de Caballos each day and ended with fireworks on Sunday. On 4 June, the Corpus procession passed through the city centre with musical accompaniment in Plaza de San Francisco as part of the municipal and Cathedral Chapter programme.
Local public holidays in 2026
The Regional Government of Andalusia's resolution declared 22 April, the Wednesday of the Feria, and 4 June, Corpus Christi, as Seville's local working-calendar holidays. These were the municipality's two paid, non-recoverable public holidays in 2026.
Other cultural events
Holy Week, the Velá de Santa Ana, the Flamenco Biennial and activities in theatres, museums and heritage venues complete a cultural calendar that continues throughout the year.
