Local festivals in Gines
The San Ginés Fair, founded in 1970, is usually celebrated in early July. Its family-run marquees, music and popular activities fill the permanent fairground, which becomes a meeting place for residents, associations and visitors.
San Ginés pilgrimage and Rocío traditions
In early September, the image of San Ginés travels through the municipality on an ox-drawn cart, accompanied by pilgrims to the pine grove bearing his name, where a community gathering continues. Gines's Rocío identity is also expressed in the carriage procession setting out for El Rocío, recognised as a Festival of Tourist Interest in Andalusia.
Other celebrations: Una Pará en Gines
In autumn, Una Pará en Gines brings together several days of equestrian events, carriage-driving displays, Rocío traditions, crafts and food. Recognised as an Event of Tourist Interest in Andalusia, it turns the world of horses and the customs of the Aljarafe into a large community celebration.
