Local festivals in Gelves

The Virgen de Gracia Fair and Patronal Festivities are usually celebrated over several days before the last Sunday in August. On that Sunday, the image moves through the streets accompanied by devotees from Gelves and neighbouring towns and by a music band. From Wednesday onwards, Caseta Municipal hosts performances, music and gatherings for different generations.

Services and the tuberose offering

In the preceding weeks, the triduum, Marian opening address and public veneration take place. On Saturday, the community offering of tuberoses moves from the Town Hall to Santa María de Gracia parish church; these flowers decorate the patron's float and preserve the memory of the former Fiesta de la Flor. The confraternity, parish, Town Council, bands, associations and residents take part in the events.

Puerto Gelves and other celebrations

The revived cucaña in the Puerto Gelves dock links the fair with the river, alongside sporting and community activities. The festival calendar also includes Carnival, Holy Week, Corpus Christi and the pilgrimage to El Rocío, as well as tourism and food events held at the marina.
