Local festivals in Torremolinos

The San Miguel Pilgrimage and Fair close September with a pilgrimage to the chapel, a daytime fair in the town centre and a night fair at the fairground. In July, the Virgen del Carmen provides La Carihuela's main seafaring celebration.

Usual celebration

On the Sunday before the fair, thousands of pilgrims travel on foot, horseback and in carts to the San Miguel chapel at Los Pinares. The town-centre streets then host the daytime fair, while the fairground becomes the focus for stalls, music and rides at night. The procession of Saint Michael the Archangel brings the celebrations to a close on 29 September.

Other events

The Town Council and neighbourhood associations also support the festival calendar: La Carihuela celebrates the Virgen del Carmen every 16 July with a procession by land and sea and a fair rooted in the neighbourhood's fishing tradition.
