Local festivals in Rincón de la Victoria
Virgen del Carmen is the focus of the summer festivities, while Benagalbón, La Cala del Moral and Torre de Benagalbón retain celebrations of their own.
Usual celebration
Rincón's fair is usually held over several days around 16 July. The image of Virgen del Carmen travels by sea accompanied by boats, then returns to land on the shoulders of sailors before continuing through the streets. The Town Council, confraternities, associations, residents and crews take part in the procession; jábega boat races belong to the coastal tradition.
Programme for 2026
The fair ran from 15 to 19 July. The programme included an opening proclamation in the Municipal Auditorium, a giants and big-heads parade and the maritime and land procession on the 16th, as well as a Youth Night on El Tajo beach, performances in Plaza Al-Ándalus and Horse Day.
Local public holidays in 2026
The municipal proclamation and official working calendar set 2 February, Virgen de la Candelaria, and 16 July, Virgen del Carmen. These are the two local non-working days, not the full duration of the fairs.
Other events
Benagalbón celebrates Candelaria on 2 February with a procession and the traditional throwing of sugared almonds and peanuts; La Cala del Moral opens its festivities in early July and Torre de Benagalbón holds its celebration in August.
