Usual celebration
Puerto Real honours its patron, Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, on 11 February with religious events organised alongside the brotherhood. The other major celebration is the six-day Spring Fair at Las Canteras fairground, with casetas, sevillanas, flamenco, a horse-and-carriage parade, performances and a Children's Day. The City Council, dance schools, associations and caseta operators help organise it.
Other cultural events
Other events include Carnival, with the official competition for carnival groups, a funfair and activities at Teatro Principal; in summer, neighbourhood verbenas occupy squares in different parts of the municipality.
