Local festivals in Los Barrios
The San Isidro Labrador Fair and Patronal Festivities are usually celebrated in May around the 15th. The fairground and town streets bring together casetas, rides, music, the coronation ceremony and the parade, with the participation of peñas, caseta organisers, associations and local families.
San Isidro pilgrimage
The pilgrimage carries the patron saint from the town to the Montera del Torero rest area. Pilgrims, horse riders and carriages follow the route and share a community gathering in the countryside; the modern celebration was revived in 1964 and is recognised as a Festival of Tourist Interest in Andalusia.
Other events: Virgen del Rosario and neighbourhood festivities
The Virgen del Rosario, patron of Los Barrios, is usually carried in procession on the first Sunday in October. Palmones maintains the seafaring Virgen del Carmen celebration and its fair, while Los Cortijillos holds the San Juan Bautista pilgrimage and its own summer festivities, reflecting the municipality's varied character.
